Synopsis: The story is based on a novel by Clement Richer. It follows the lifelong friendship between a young Polynesian boy named Tiko and a pet shark he raises. As they grow up, Tiko and the shark help collect oysters for pearls, but their friendship is challenged by encroaching civilization and greedy fishermen.
