Publication: This issue was the second installment of what would become the long-running Surfer magazine. After the success of the first issue, publisher John Severson decided to release it quarterly.
Content: The issue largely featured Severson's own photography, writing, and artwork, and included a comic strip by 16-year-old Rick Griffin, who would later gain fame for his psychedelic art and design work for the Grateful Dead and the Rolling Stone magazine logo. |
