Shipping Line: The Europa-Canada Line was formed in Bremen in 1955 as a joint subsidiary of the Holland America Line and Royal Rotterdam Lloyd, primarily to offer inexpensive travel between Europe and Canada for students and migrants. The line ceased operations in 1967. Ship: The poster features the MS Seven Seas. This ship had an eventful history, originally built as a cargo ship in 1940, briefly serving as the USS Long Island (the first US escort aircraft carrier) during World War II, and then rebuilt as a passenger liner in 1953.
