Next Of Kin

Next Of Kin - Mounted (Poster) Antikbar London Underground "Street Scenes Series" harmonisation posters, created by artist Beric Young in 1942 for the British War Office. These posters were not propaganda in the typical sense but were training aids used during World War II for infantry rifle training. Purpose and Details Training Use: The posters were used to help soldiers practice coordinating their rifle fire on specific targets in urban combat scenarios. They were designed to be viewed from a distance of 4 to 5 yards to simulate real-world conditions. Artist: The illustration was originally painted by British artist Beric Young (1902-1963), one of the founder members of London Typographic Designers. Imagery: The image depicts a London street scene with extensive damage from bombing, a common sight during the Blitz, featuring a flipped vehicle, rubble, and the "Next of Kin" sign on one of the buildings. Rarity: Few of these posters remain today, making original prints quite rare.
