The Great Levante (Leslie George Cole, 1892–1978). It specifically promotes his "Third World Tour" and his famous "£1000 Steel Trunk Mystery" act, which was a substitution illusion where he would magically and quickly switch places with an assistant.

Identity: Leslie George Cole was a world-famous Australian illusionist who performed from around 1910 until his retirement in 1977.
Legacy: He is regarded as one of the greatest magicians in the world and "Australia's most famous magician". He is also credited with creating the "Impaling" illusion.
The "Steel Trunk Mystery": This act was a version of the popular substitution trunk illusion, which became one of his most iconic tricks. The trunk was specially built to be examined and appeared impossible to escape from, adding to the mystery.
Tours: Levante's first world tour lasted 13 years, from 1927 to 1940. He embarked on his third world tour around 1954, which the poster advertises.
