Aeromaritime

Aeromaritime - After (Poster) Antikbar vintage travel poster for Aéromaritime airline services to the West Coast of Africa. The artwork, titled "Aéromaritime, Côte Occidentale d'Afrique", was created by the French artist Albert Brenet in 1937. Poster Details Airline/Company: Aéromaritime, an air service of the shipping line Chargeurs Réunis. Artist: Albert Brenet (1903–2005). Date of Manufacture: Circa 1937. Route Advertised: From Dakar (Senegal) to Pointe Noire (Congo). Image Description: The poster features a striking illustration of an African archer in the foreground, with a seaplane, likely a Boeing 307 Stratoliner or similar aircraft used by the airline, flying in the background. Printing Technique: Original posters were printed using stone lithography. Historical Context Aéromaritime was founded in 1934 by the shipping company Chargeurs Réunis to supplement its maritime operations around West Africa. The airline was later a predecessor to Union Aéromaritime de Transport (UAT) and subsequently merged into Union de Transports Aériens (UTA) in 1963, which was eventually absorbed by Air France.
