Series: The "Cars" series was a commissioned project by Daimler-Benz (now Mercedes-Benz) in 1986 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the automobile. Warhol completed 36 screen prints and 13 drawings of eight different Mercedes-Benz vehicles before his death in 1987.
Poster Details: The poster itself is an offset lithograph published by the Guggenheim Museum in 1988.
Car Model: The car depicted is the Mercedes-Benz W125 Formel-Rennwagen, a Grand Prix racing car from 1937.
