Artwork and Design
The poster was created by the acclaimed psychedelic artists Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley. The central image of the woman was famously adapted from an 1897 Art Nouveau advertisement for "JOB" brand cigarette rolling papers by the Czech artist Alphonse Mucha. This adaptation is a key example of the San Francisco psychedelic poster movement's style, which often borrowed images from diverse sources. |
