Mexican one-sheet movie poster for the 1958 Mexican science-fiction thriller film,
El hombre que logró ser invisible (The Man Who Managed to Be Invisible), also known by its English title, The New Invisible Man. It stars prominent Mexican actors Arturo de Córdova and Ana Luisa Peluffo.
Synopsis
The plot is a re-imagining of the Universal Studios classic The Invisible Man Returns (1940).
Plot: The main character, Carlos (played by Arturo de Córdova), is falsely accused of murder and sentenced to prison.
Escape: His brother, a scientist, develops an invisibility serum and helps Carlos escape prison to prove his innocence.
Conflict: Carlos uses his newfound invisibility to investigate the crime and track down the real killer.
Side Effects & Climax: A critical side effect of the serum is that it slowly drives Carlos insane, leading him to abandon his original goal and instead decide to poison the city's water supply, culminating in a final showdown at a dam.
The film is noted for its competent direction by Alfredo B. Crevenna and special effects that were impressive for Mexican cinema at the time. |
| The poster was soaked in distilled water, between mylar sheets until thoroughly saturated. Wheat paste was applied with a brush and sponge roller and the poster was mounted to Okawara. |
