St Moritz

St Moritz - Mounted (Poster) Antikbar One Sheet vintage travel poster for St. Moritz-les Bains, Switzerland, was originally created in 1948 by the notable Swiss photographer Albert Steiner. It was used to promote the alpine spa resort and the 1948 Winter Olympics held there. Poster Details Title: St. Moritz-les Bains. The Alpine Spa. Suisse 1856 m. Artist/Photographer: Albert Steiner Year: 1948 Description: The poster features a striking image of large red lilies in the foreground, with the deep blue waters of a lake reflecting the snow-capped mountains of the Engadin Valley in the background. A smiling sun, the official St. Moritz emblem, is visible in the upper left corner. Printer: Art. Institut Orell Füssli in Zurich. Note: The 1948 version features the Olympic rings, which may not be present on all general tourism variations of this design. A similar poster design featuring blue gentian flowers was created by artist Leo Keck in 1931, and a red lily version was also designed by Martin Peikert around 1958.
