vintage travel poster by the artist Jean Léger, created around 1950. The poster is titled Wintersport in Frankreich (Winter Sports in France) in German, and was used to promote skiing and winter tourism in the French Alps to the German market. The same design was also published with French and English text.
The artwork features a charming illustration of a robin on a snow-covered birdhouse in the foreground, with two skiers in the snowy mountains of the French Alps in the background. The poster was commissioned by the Ministère des Travaux Publics et des Transports, Commissariat Général au Tourisme (General Commission for Tourism). |
