Poster Details Artist: Tomi Ungerer Venue: The Electric Circus, a hip nightclub known as a "rock palace" located on St. Mark's Place in the East Village, Manhattan. The club was famous for its psychedelic bands and elaborate light shows, operating from 1967 to 1971. Advertising Policy: The poster promotes a specific event with the text: "BEGINNING OCTOBER 5TH, GIRLS WITHOUT BRASSIERES ADMITTED FREE EVERY SUNDAY AT THE ELECTRIC CIRCUS". Series: This was one of a series of six witty and somewhat risqué posters Ungerer designed for the club, all using the tagline "The Ultimate Legal Entertainment Experience".
