Plot Summary
The story follows Sanya Grigoryev from a young age, whose fate becomes intertwined with a missing Arctic expedition.
The Quest: As a boy, Sanya finds a bag of letters from a lost polar expedition led by Captain Ivan Tatarinov. He vows to find the missing expedition and solve its disappearance.
The Vow: The novel and film are famous for the motto: "Fight and seek, find and not give up".
Adulthood: Sanya grows up to become a polar aviator and marries Katya Tatarinova, the captain's daughter. He eventually finds the remains of the lost expedition during World War II, exposing the villainy of those responsible for its demise. |
