Grand Canyon - After 3 (Poster) Disneyland ride Attraction, Steam train, screen print, railroad vintage Disneyland attraction poster for the Santa Fe & Disneyland Railroad Grand Canyon Diorama. This diorama opened on March 31, 1958, and was billed as the "longest diorama in the world" at 306 feet in length. Attraction Details Sponsor: The Santa Fe Railroad sponsored the Disneyland Railroad from its opening until 1974, and the diorama served as a cross-promotion for train travel to the real Grand Canyon. Artist: The poster and the diorama's painted backdrop were created by Disney artist Paul Hartley and scenic artist Delmer J. Yoakum, respectively. Experience: The attraction features a massive, seamless canvas backdrop with taxidermic animals indigenous to the canyon's South Rim, set to the "On The Trail" segment of Ferde Grofé’s Grand Canyon Suite. Expansion: In 1966, the diorama was expanded to include the Primeval World segment, featuring Audio-Animatronic dinosaurs originally showcased at the 1964 New York World's Fair.
