Sidewalk # 304

Sidewalk # 304 (Poster) Fine art by Andy Warhol Sidewalk (1983) by the renowned Pop Artist Andy Warhol. This work is a screenprint based on a photograph Warhol took of the famous celebrity handprints and footprints in the cement forecourt of Grauman's Chinese Theatre (now the TCL Chinese Theatre) in Hollywood, California. The specific celebrity impressions visible in the artwork belong to four classic film stars: Cary Grant: His handprints and footprints were added to the forecourt on July 16, 1951. Judy Garland: Her prints are next to Cary Grant's on the upper right slab. Jack Nicholson: His impressions are visible on the lower left slab, with the date "JUNE 1974". Shirley Temple: Her prints are on the lower right slab, and she left a personal message: "FOR MR. GRAUMAN ALL HAPPINESS LOVE TO YOU ALL SHIRLEY TEMPLE". The print itself was part of a portfolio called "Eight by Eight to Celebrate the Temporary Contemporary," produced to raise funds for a museum in 1983.
