Claude Renoir

Claude Renoir - After (Poster) Fine art print of the artwork "Claude Renoir, Turned to the Left" (or in French, "Claude Renoir, tourné à gauche") by the famous French Impressionist artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir. Artwork Details Artist: Pierre-Auguste Renoir (French, 1841–1919) Subject: The artist's youngest son, Claude Renoir (nicknamed "Coco"), born in 1901. Medium: Lithograph (in black ink) Date: The image was composed as a drawing on stone in c. 1904, and published as a lithograph in 1919 as part of the suite Douze Lithographies Originales de Pierre-Auguste Renoir. Signature: The visible signature at the bottom right is typically "in the stone" (meaning part of the print plate itself) rather than a handwritten signature on the final paper for most editions. Editions: There were two main editions published by Ambroise Vollard: a larger run of 950 copies on wove paper and a smaller, more valuable edition of 50 on Japanese paper. This work is part of a series of portraits Renoir made of his son, a frequent subject in his later work.
