Minehead

Minehead - After 3 (Poster) Half sheet vintage Art Deco advertising poster for the Minehead Lido, also known as "The New Minehead Swimming Pool," which opened in 1936. The pool was built to Olympic specifications and financed by the local Luttrell family. Key Information Location: Minehead, Somerset, UK, right on the seafront. Era: The poster dates to the 1930s, around the time the pool opened. Features: It was an open-air, Olympic-standard swimming pool with one of the few heated seawater systems at the time, featuring a high diving tower with 5 and 10-meter boards. History: The lido was a popular attraction for decades until it was eventually closed and demolished in 1991 to make way for a new development of flats and houses.
