Bostedt and produced by Bill Graham Presents for the "Day on the Green" concert series. Concert Details and History Dates & Venue: Saturday, July 23, and Sunday, July 24, 1977, at the Oakland Coliseum Stadium in Oakland, CA. Promoter: Bill Graham. Opening Acts: Rick Derringer and Judas Priest opened the shows. Historical Significance: The July 24 show was the final concert Led Zeppelin ever played in the United States. The rest of the tour was canceled two days later after Robert Plant received news that his five-year-old son, Karac, had tragically died of a viral infection. Backstage Incident: The shows are also infamous for a major backstage altercation between the band's security entourage (including John Bonham and manager Peter Grant) and Bill Graham's staff, leading to arrests and a multi-million dollar lawsuit.
