Movie Synopsis
The story follows Marshal Matt Landry as he captures gunrunner Frank Girard (Victor Jory). On his way back to Tombstone with his prisoner, Landry discovers the remains of an Indian attack on a wagon train. He rescues the sole survivors: Mary Kimber (Joan Leslie) and two children.
Complications arise when:
A Budding Romance: Landry, a widower, begins to fall for Mary while she and the children stay with him.
The Escape: Girard's brothers spring him from custody during a prisoner transfer.
The Secret: Landry discovers that Mary's husband, Verne (Harry Morgan), did not die in the attack but is actually a coward helping the outlaws by tapping telegraph lines.
