Down the Rabbit Hole

After Down the Rabbit Hole by Salvador Dalí. It is one of the twelve illustrations created by the artist in 1969 for a limited-edition version of Lewis Carroll's book, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Dalí, a key figure in the Surrealist movement, used heliogravure to create the illustrations. This particular piece is a part of a larger portfolio that includes one illustration for each chapter of the book and an original etching as a frontispiece. This collaboration between Dalí and Lewis Carroll is noted for its unique blend of the artist's surrealist style with the fantastical world of Wonderland. Dalí incorporated his recurring motifs, such as a girl skipping rope, into the illustrations.
