They decide to dig up the corpse to retrieve the head and claim the reward, leading to a violent and tragic odyssey across the Mexican landscape.
Directing and Style: Known for its "ultra-violence" and signature slow-motion action sequences, the film is considered one of Peckinpah's most personal and uncompromising works. It was the only film in his career on which he reportedly had final cut.
