Son of Lassie, a 1945 American Technicolor adventure film produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM). A direct sequel to the 1943 hit Lassie Come Home, it follows the wartime adventures of an adult Joe Carraclough and his dog, Laddie.
Plot Overview
Set during World War II, Joe Carraclough joins the Royal Air Force (RAF) and is eventually stationed at a bomber base. His loyal dog, Laddie (Lassie's son), stows away on Joe's plane during a dangerous mission over Nazi-occupied Norway. After their plane is hit by enemy fire and they are forced to parachute out, Joe and Laddie must navigate the treacherous, enemy-controlled landscape to find their way back to safety.
