One sheet 1946 American mystery film
"Crime Doctor's Man Hunt," the seventh installment in Columbia Pictures' popular Crime Doctor series.
Directed by William Castle and written by Leigh Brackett, the film follows Dr. Robert Ordway (played by Warner Baxter), a criminal psychologist who becomes embroiled in a complex case after one of his patients is murdered.
Movie Plot Summary
The story begins when a World War II veteran, John Foster, consults Dr. Ordway about memory blackouts that draw him to a specific part of town. Shortly after, Ordway witnesses the man's murder and sees two thugs carrying his body away. When the police, led by Inspector Harry B. Manning (William Frawley), find no evidence of a crime, Ordway must investigate on his own.
The investigation leads him to a dysfunctional wealthy family, including Foster's fiancée Irene Cotter (Ellen Drew) and her mysterious, estranged sister Natalie. The mystery unfolds with a "twist" ending involving a dual personality.
