Together

Together - Mounted (Poster) Half sheet vintage World War II propaganda poster titled "Together," created for the British Ministry of Information circa 1940. It features seven soldiers from the various nations and colonies of the British Commonwealth marching in unison under the Union Jack flag. The poster was intended to inspire soldiers and the public by showcasing the unity of the British Empire's diverse forces. The men represented include personnel from: Canada (the soldier in the foreground in the blue uniform). Australia. Great Britain. British India (represented by the soldier in the turban). South Africa and other African colonies. The "Together" poster is generally attributed to the British artist William Little. Created around 1940-1941 for the British Ministry of Information, the artwork is a classic example of wartime heroic realism. While some archives occasionally mention the name Lucas as a possible contributor or alternative attribution, most historical records and auction houses identify Little as the primary creator. The design was part of a larger propaganda campaign to emphasize the collective strength of the British Empire and Commonwealth during the early years of World War II.
