Fine art by Salvador Dali
"A Mad Tea Party" (or simply "Mad Tea Party"), created by the Spanish Surrealist artist Salvador Dalí in 1969. It is one of twelve illustrations Dalí produced for a special edition of Lewis Carroll’s literary classic, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
The piece is a color lithograph on paper and features classic Dalinian surrealist motifs, including:
The Melting Clock: A signature Dalí element, shown here draped around a central spring tree.
Surrealist Landscape: A dreamlike environment filled with butterflies and stylized figures that reference the tea party scene from the book.
Signature and Markings: Many authentic versions are pencil-signed by the artist in the lower right margin and include an artist's monogram or blindstamp. |
