Half sheet vintage movie poster for the
1949 horror-comedy mystery film, Abbott and Costello Meet the Killer, Boris Karloff.
Movie Overview
Directed by Charles Barton, this film features the legendary comedy duo Bud Abbott and Lou Costello alongside horror icon Boris Karloff. Interestingly, despite the title, Boris Karloff is not the killer in the movie; he plays a suspicious character named Swami Talpur who attempts to hypnotize Costello's character.
Plot: The story follows Freddie Phillips (Lou Costello), a clumsy hotel bellboy who becomes the prime suspect in the murder of a prominent lawyer. His friend Casey Edwards (Bud Abbott), the hotel detective, tries to help clear his name as more bodies continue to turn up.
Key Cast:
Bud Abbott as Casey Edwards
Lou Costello as Freddie Phillips
Boris Karloff as Swami Talpur
Lenore Aubert as Angela Gordon
Trivia:
The script was originally written for Bob Hope under the title Easy Does It.
It was banned in Denmark due to a scene where the duo plays cards with a corpse.
This is reportedly the only Hollywood film to include three actors' names in the main title. |
