One sheet 1978 Star Wars "Happy Birthday" one-sheet poster, commissioned by 20th Century Fox to celebrate the film's one-year anniversary.History and RarityUnofficially known as the Style "E" variant, the poster was distributed in mid-1978 exclusively to theaters that had continuously screened Star Wars for an entire year. Because so few theaters achieved this milestone, the poster is extremely rare; it is estimated that only about 400 copies were originally printed, with only 250–280 surviving quality control issues.Design DetailsThe Cake: Designed by Cake and Art in West Hollywood, the cake features a blue and white Star Wars logo.Action Figures: The poster showcases 11 of the original 12 Kenner action figures. The only figure missing from the set is the Jawa.Credits: The design was by Tony Seiniger, with photography by Weldon Anderson. |
