Christ and the Woman of Samaria

After Fine art by Rembrandt Christ and the Woman of Samaria: an Arched Print is an etching and drypoint artwork by the Dutch Golden Age artist, Rembrandt van Rijn. Created in 1657 or 1658, the piece depicts the biblical story from the Gospel of John where Jesus asks a Samaritan woman for a drink of water at a well. The encounter was considered "unusual" because of the tensions between Jews and Samaritans at the time.
