Monaco - Mounted (Poster) Halfsheet official poster for the 1965 Monaco Grand Prix, created by the renowned motorsport artist Michael Turner.The Artwork and Event Featured Car: The prominent red car in the foreground is identified as a Ferrari driven by John Surtees. Interestingly, while Surtees' car is the star of the poster, he actually finished 4th in the race after running out of fuel on the final lap. The Winner: The 23rd Grand Prix of Monaco was won by Graham Hill driving for BRM. This was Hill's third consecutive victory at Monaco, earning him the nickname "Mr. Monaco". Race Highlights: The 100-lap race took place on May 30, 1965. It is also remembered for driver Paul Hawkins crashing his Lotus into the harbor—only the second time in history a driver had ended up in the water during the race.
