It was commissioned as a joint advertisement for the British Overseas Airways Corporation (B.O.A.C.) and Qantas Empire Airways (Q.E.A.). The poster promotes travel to Australia on the Lockheed Constellation, a pressurized airliner that was a staple of the "Kangaroo Service" between London and Sydney during that era.
