Ma de Proverbis" by the Spanish artist Joan Miró, a color lithograph created in 1970. Miró was a key figure in 20th-century avant-garde art and a pioneer of surrealism and automatism, a method of drawing that allows the subconscious to take over.
This work is a notable example of his whimsical style, characterized by a wandering linear design, bold colors, and abstract shapes. Different versions of this lithograph exist, with some being part of a deluxe edition on japon paper and others on Arches wove paper.
The lithograph was created for a book of the same name by Japanese poet Shuzo Takiguchi. |
