Yankee Clippers Sail Again (Poster) Halfsheet, travel poster original vintage 1939 Pan American Airways promotional poster titled "Yankee Clippers Sail Again, 1838–1939". Created by American maritime artist Gordon Grant, the artwork commemorates a new era of transportation by juxtaposing a modern Boeing 314 Clipper flying boat against its namesake, a traditional 19th-century square-rigged clipper sailing ship. The Boeing 314 was one of the largest aircraft of its time and was used by Pan Am to establish luxurious overnight routes across the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.
