is a vintage advertising poster for British Railways, featuring a painting by the artist Christopher Clark (1875-1942). The artwork, which was executed in 1932, depicts the "Trooping the Colour" ceremony by the Brigade of Guards on Horse Guards Parade in London. This annual ceremony marks the Sovereign's official birthday.
The poster was originally designed in the 1930s and was often re-issued by British Railways in the 1950s. It is part of the "See Britain by Rail" advertising campaign. The original painting is housed in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. |
