Movie Synopsis
Set in the Florida Everglades, the story follows a series of mysterious disappearances in the local swamp.
The Monsters: A pair of oversized, intelligent, and mutated leeches—possibly altered by radiation from nearby Cape Canaveral—inhabit an underwater cave.
The Victims: The creatures drag locals to their cavern, keeping them alive to slowly drain their blood. Notable victims include Liz Walker (played by Yvette Vickers) and her lover, who are forced into the swamp at gunpoint by her jealous husband.
The Resolution: Game warden Steve Benton (Ken Clark) and Doc Grayson (Tyler McVey) eventually discover the lair. They destroy the creatures and their cavern using dynamite, though the film ends with a hint that some leeches may have survived.
