Ubu Rey (Ubu Roi) by the Spanish artist Joan Miró. The work was created in 1966 and is one of the prints from a series that Miró made to illustrate Alfred Jarry's play Ubu Roi. The grotesque character of King Ubu in the play was used by Miró to ridicule Spanish dictator Francisco Franco. Miró's work is associated with Surrealism, and he often used vibrant colors and symbols to create a world of strange figures and configurations
