Stained Glass

After Fine Art, Lithograph, Marc Chagall, " The Tribe of Issachar" is an artwork by the Russian-French artist Marc Chagall. The piece is part of a series called "Twelve Maquettes of Stained Glass Windows for Jerusalem," which Chagall created for the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center's synagogue. The series depicts the twelve tribes of Israel. The artwork, often found as a lithograph, was created in 1964 and is based on Chagall's original designs for the stained glass windows. The lithographs were produced at the Mourlot atelier in Paris. The image itself is a colorful and symbolic representation of the Tribe of Issachar, often associated with a strong donkey in biblical scripture.
