The work was created between 1968 and 1969 and is part of a series of 21 etchings for an edition of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's Faust. It is also known by the German title "Portrait der Marguerite (Gretchen)". The artwork is a drypoint etching with roulette on Japanese paper. |
