Fine Art, Drawing, Salvador Dali, This is an image of the artwork "
Study for Soldier Take Warning" by Salvador Dalí, created in 1942.
The artwork was a preliminary study for a poster commissioned by the U.S. government during World War II. Dalí was asked to create a poster to warn servicemen about the dangers of venereal diseases. The surrealist piece uses a double-image technique: from a distance, the two women under the light appear to form the shape of a human skull. The artwork reflects Dalí's own "manic fear of venereal diseases".
The artwork is a pen, ink, and pencil drawing with gouache on brown paper. |
