Zombi One

Zombi One - Mounted (Poster) One sheet, Dawn Of The Dead Zombi One, the 1978 Italian-edited version of George A. Romero's horror classic, Dawn of the Dead. The "Zombi" History While the film is known as Dawn of the Dead in the US, legendary Italian director Dario Argento secured the rights to release it in non-English speaking territories. Argento created his own shorter, faster-paced cut of the film for the Italian market, titled simply Zombi. Zombi One: Following the film's massive success in Italy, other movies tried to capitalize on the name. Lucio Fulci's unrelated film Zombi 2 was marketed as a sequel to Romero's film, leading some subsequent releases and posters to refer to the original as "Zombi One" to distinguish it. The Argento Cut: This version is approximately 119 minutes long (compared to Romero’s 127-minute US cut). It removes much of the satirical humor and emphasizes action and horror, featuring a heavier focus on the iconic soundtrack by the Italian band Goblin. Poster Details The poster features the famous "bald zombie head" rising over the horizon, which became the definitive image for the film's international marketing. Key Names: The poster credits both Dario Argento and George A. Romero, reflecting their collaboration on the European release. Cast: The bottom of the poster lists the lead actors: David Emge, Ken Foree, Scott H. Reiniger, and Gaylen Ross.
