Le Mans 79
Attraction size This is an original vintage Porsche factory motorsport poster commemorating the historic results of the 1979 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. Designed by legendary Porsche graphic designer Erich Strenger, it celebrates a completely dominant weekend where Porsche secured the top four overall finishing positions.

Race Context & Poster Details

• The Winning Car: The vehicle featured prominently in the center photo is the famous #41 Porsche 935 K3 entered by Kremer Racing. Draped in its iconic white Philippe Salvet / Numéro Réserve livery, it took outright overall victory in a heavily rain-affected race.
• The Drivers: The car was driven to victory by professional racing driver Klaus Ludwig alongside brothers Don and Bill Whittington.
• Finishing Results: The right-hand column lists the official top 6 classification finishers of the race, highlighting the dominance of the Porsche 935 platform occupying 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall. The list famously includes the #70 Dick Barbour Racing Porsche 935 in 2nd place, co-driven by Hollywood actor Paul Newman.
