Piccadilly Line Extension
One sheet previously mounted on fabric. This artwork is a famous 1932 vintage London Underground advertising poster titled "Opening of the Piccadilly Line Extension". Designed by the British illustrator and designer Cecil Walter Bacon (C.W. Bacon), it was commissioned by the Underground Electric Railways Company of London to celebrate the opening of the northern extension of the Piccadilly line from Finsbury Park to Arnos Grove on September 19, 1932.Design Details The Concept: The poster cleverly shows a stylized pathway or "carpet" of the new railway line being rolled out into the suburbs of North London by two geometric blue figures.The 5 New Stations: The map showcases the five new stations that opened simultaneously on that day:Manor House Turnpike Lane Wood Green Bounds Green Arnos Grove The Aesthetics: The artwork is highly regarded as a prime example of 1930s commercial Art Deco/Modernist graphic design. It frames the expanding transit network as an exciting milestone of progress and connection for rural and suburban communities.Original copies of this iconic design are housed in the collection of the London Transport Museum.

If it has relied on significant evaluation assistance from any individual or individuals in the performance of this evaluation or the appropriation of this evaluation report, PM-LAPG has named such individuals and disclosed the specific task performed in this evaluation report. PM-LAPG certifies that any individual so named is qualified to the same extent as PM to perform the task. PM-LAPG has not authorized anyone to make a change to any item in this evaluation report, therefore, any change made to this evaluation is unauthorized and PM-LAPG will not take responsibility for it.
VI) The Client may not disclose or distribute this Evaluation Report to any potential purchasers of the subject property without first obtaining PM-LAPG's prior written consent.
