It captures a classicizing theme of a bearded sculptor reclining alongside his nude model as they peacefully contemplate a classical sculpted head positioned on a pedestal.The Muse: The female figure and the sculpture are widely recognized by art historians to be inspired by Marie-Thérèse Walter, Picasso’s young lover, muse, and a constant theme in his 1930s output.Style: It is executed in Picasso’s elegant Neo-Classical style, defined by clean, sparse, and fluid line work without heavy shading or cross-hatching.Inscriptions: The plate features a mirror-inverted inscription by Picasso in the upper left corner reading "Paris 4 Avril XXXIII". The original print sheet is hand-signed by Picasso in pencil in the lower right margin.Paper & Edition: The total edition consisted of 260 impressions printed on Montval laid paper featuring either a "Picasso" or "Vollard" watermark, plus an additional 50 wide-margin impressions. The prints were formally pulled by master printer Roger Lacourière and published in Paris in 1939.

If it has relied on significant evaluation assistance from any individual or individuals in the performance of this evaluation or the appropriation of this evaluation report, PM-LAPG has named such individuals and disclosed the specific task performed in this evaluation report. PM-LAPG certifies that any individual so named is qualified to the same extent as PM to perform the task. PM-LAPG has not authorized anyone to make a change to any item in this evaluation report, therefore, any change made to this evaluation is unauthorized and PM-LAPG will not take responsibility for it.
VI) The Client may not disclose or distribute this Evaluation Report to any potential purchasers of the subject property without first obtaining PM-LAPG's prior written consent. This consent must be obtained before this evaluation report may be disclosed or distributed to any other party, including, but not limited to, the public through advertising, public relations, news, sales, or other media.
