Charton, an English-born artist who emigrated to British Malaya and became a prominent figure in the local art scene between the 1920s and 1940s.The Client: It was commissioned and issued by the Federated Malay States Railways (FMSR), which operated the extensive rail network running from Singapore all the way north to Padang Besar.The Marketing Goal: During the 1930s, the FMSR launched a major tourism campaign using stylized Art Deco and lithographic imagery. This specific poster was designed to romanticize the exotic natural beauty of the region and entice international and domestic steamship travelers to choose a scenic, comfortable train journey across the Malayan peninsula instead.Visual Elements: The piece captures an idealized, serene nighttime view of a golden sandy beach, large coastal boulders, and swaying palm trees framed against a vibrant full moon.

PM-LAPG certifies that any individual so named is qualified to the same extent as PM to perform the task. PM-LAPG has not authorized anyone to make a change to any item in this evaluation report, therefore, any change made to this evaluation is unauthorized and PM-LAPG will not take responsibility for it.
VI) The Client may not disclose or distribute this Evaluation Report to any potential purchasers of the subject property without first obtaining PM-LAPG's prior written consent. This consent must be obtained before this evaluation report may be disclosed or distributed to any other party, including, but not limited to, the public through advertising, public relations, news, sales, or other media.
