The Peak District
Royal Quad 40 x 50 original 1924 vintage travel poster titled "The Peak District: Peveril Castle". Poster Details Artist: Designed by the prominent British painter Leonard Campbell Taylor, A.R.A. (1874–1969). Commissioned By: The London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS). It was part of a prestigious series of sixteen promotional posters created by members of the Royal Academy in 1924 to elevate the railway company's brand imagery. Depiction: A scenic countryside view of the historic village of Castleton in Derbyshire, split by a country lane. Standing tall on the steep hill in the background is the formidable silhouette of the ruined Peveril Castle.
