Plot and Setting The story begins in Victorian-era London, where an inventor builds a machine capable of navigating through time. Hoping to find a utopian civilization, he travels hundreds of thousands of years into the far future. Instead, he discovers that humanity has split into two vastly different species: the gentle, surface-dwelling Eloi and the menacing, subterranean Morlocks who hunt them. The dramatic artwork on the poster, illustrated by acclaimed artist Reynold Brown, highlights the terrifying conflict between the traveler and a monstrous Morlock.Awards and Legacy The feature is celebrated for its groundbreaking time-lapse photography, which visually fast-forwards the world through historical wars and changing landscapes.
