MEA Jerusalem
Halfsheet vintage travel poster for Middle East Airlines (MEA), Lebanon's flagship carrier, advertising Jerusalem
as a destination. Designed in the 1960s (circa 1961–1962), it features the signature mid-century modern style of renowned French graphic artist Jacques Auriac (1922–2003).
Artistic and Historical Details

Composition: The poster showcases a stylized figure carrying a large ceramic vase against a background of Jerusalem's Old City architecture. A classic MEA airplane, likely a Caravelle or Comet 4 jet, is shown soaring above.
Style: Auriac is known for his use of bold colors, graphic simplicity, and elegant modernist touches. This particular series for MEA captured the "Golden Age" of Arab aviation and tourism.
Production: The original posters were lithographic prints produced by Ets De La Vasselais in Paris.
