Theme: The attraction recreates the elaborate home built by the shipwrecked Robinson family on a deserted island, using items salvaged from their vessel.
Location & Status:
Magic Kingdom
(Walt Disney World, Florida): The Swiss Family Treehouse
is an original attraction (opened 1971) and is currently open, though as of late 2024/early 2025 some areas were undergoing refurbishment.
Disneyland
(California): The original attraction opened in 1962 but closed in 1999. It was re-themed as Tarzan's Treehouse and then, in 2023, reopened as the "Adventureland Treehouse Inspired by Walt Disney's Swiss Family Robinson", which honors the original theme.

Structure: The massive "tree" is actually man-made, constructed of steel, concrete, and stucco, with hundreds of thousands of artificial leaves.
Experience: Guests can climb 116 stairs to tour the different rooms (including a library, kitchen, and bedrooms) and see a clever water-pulley system that carries water to the top. The summit offers panoramic views of Adventureland.
