Jack The Giant Killer
Lobby Card, Jack the Giant Killer
is a 1962 American heroic fantasy adventure film directed by Nathan H. Juran. The film is loosely based on the traditional fairy tale of the same name and stars Kerwin Mathews as the hero, Jack, and Judi Meredith as Princess Elaine. The story follows Jack as he defends the princess from an evil sorcerer named Pendragon, played by Torin Thatcher, and his army of giants and demons.
The movie is known for its use of stop-motion animation for its creatures and its similarity to the 1958 film The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, which featured the same director, hero, and villain. Because of the similarities, Columbia Pictures, the company that released The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, threatened to sue, which led to the producer, Edward Small, re-editing and re-releasing the film as a musical version
