The poster was designed by Kenichi Kuriyagawa, a self-taught graphic designer known for his tourism posters for Hokkaido and the Sapporo Snow Festival. His work was featured in a Japanese Graphic Design Exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1956.
