Dragor
Attraction size, Élévateurs Dragor L'Eau Pure Partout
is a vintage French advertising poster for a type of water pump. The phrase translates to "Dragor Elevators Pure Water Everywhere". The poster was created in 1935 by the artist Paul Igert.
The poster was used to market the Dragor pump to rural communities that depended on water wells. The artwork shows the pump in the center, with vignettes around it illustrating its various uses, including putting out a fire, watering plants, providing a shower, and giving a horse clean drinking water.
The Dragor pump was a waterladder pump, also known as a "dragon spine" or "dragon wheel". It featured a chain with cups that would fill with water as the user turned a handle, lifting the water to the surface and providing a steady flow. The poster contrasted the pump's efficiency and safety with the traditional, more perilous bucket-and-rope method of drawing water from a well.
